Selena Gomez celebrated not one but two of her best friends’ birthdays this week, dressing comfortably but stylishly for each occasion. First, it was Raquelle Stevens’s house birthday party Thursday, where Gomez wore a white sweater and jeans with white boots.
Yesterday, it was her close friend Ashley Cook’s birthday out, where Gomez wore jeans and the coziest, spring-ready oversized sweater. A friend shared two photos of Gomez with the group at the bash:
Gomez didn’t post anything from the celebrations on her own Instagram, but that isn’t too surprising. Gomez has kept a very low profile since returning to the public eye in December. A source told E! in January that Gomez has made a conscious decision to minimize content on her official account. “She isn’t going to be posting much on social because she is more aware of how social takes a toll on her mental health, but she will be updating her fans once in a while,” the source said.

Gomez has written about how close she and Cook are in the past though. Cook, along with Stevens, is part of the group of friends Gomez got matching “4” tattoos with in August.
On Instagram, Gomez singled out how she and Cook had been friends for over a decade when explaining the symbolism of the group’s tattoos. “#4 because these women have stayed by my side for 7 years (@ashley_cook 12 years) 4, because you are my 4 for the rest of my life,” she wrote. “I love you ladies. You all inspire me to be better, stronger, closer to god and we have lived the most INSANE story together already. Can’t wait for 50 more!!”
And a source told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month that friends like Cook and Stevens have been so important for Gomez as she navigates her twenties while juggling A-list fame. “Selena does a good job of hanging out with people who aren’t in Hollywood—it’s always been her thing,” a source explained to the outlet. “She has famous friends, but the friends that keep her grounded have been around forever and Selena can be her true self [around them].”
