GLOSSIER GETS PLAYFUL

The brand on everybody’s lips this week (including all of us at LiB HQ) is Glossier. After a fair few teases of a new brand, this week saw the launch of its new brand Glossier Play. A brand of dialled-up beauty extras and colourful formulas, this four+ years in the making brand has applied Glossier’s core values to the world of colour. The launch collection includes four products across 28 shades with two tools. We’ve got our eye on the Glitter Gelée, a one-step glitter gel that creates a multi-dimensional jewelled effect on the eyes. Glossier Play also offers The Playground, a set which contains one of each new product.

One of our favourite base products for the Spring/Summer season is Erborian’s CC Crème (which now caters for several skin tones and types). This three-in-one product moisturises skin while tackling fine lines and concealing and illuminating the eye area.

NARS has dared to expand its collection of palettes with a limited-edition collection of contrasting tones inspired by the raw aesthetic of Los Angeles-based artist Connor Tingley. Showcased in exclusive, original packaging designed by the creative, the collection features bold new shades of Audacious Lipstick, potent eyeshadows formulated what NARS’ Pigment Powder Suspension for rich luminosity, and an unrestricted line-up of Velvet Matte Lip Pencils that evoke creativity and originality. Coveted. Collected. NARS puts artistry on display.
An eye for artistry. For the packaging, Connor used raw and original sketches from a mini series of drawings he created. The sketches themselves, with spotty colour, suggest an unfinish aspect that almost invites the viewer to complete the work themselves in their own way. The collection has started to roll out in the UK this month.
