This new palette from budget brand e.l.f. is worth £14 of anyone’s money. If you’re experimental with colours then it’s absolutely one to look out for. There are 18 shades of vibrant colour in a mix of matte, satin and shimmer textures.

The palette is roughly divided between cool and warm shades as well as light and dark so really, any look is possible. I love the fact that on the back of the palette the brand gives some suggested colours and where to place them to get a particular look (‘bright & bold’, ‘pretty hot’ and ‘royal edge’). It’s a nice touch that most palettes don’t bother with.

I have to say that the quality through the palette is variable. There’s nothing terrible and a big bold block of swatch doesn’t always reflect how a texture performs on the eye but the dark matte shades are the ones that require a bit more effort for consistency, as does the yellow shade in the brighter section. The metallics, I might say, are exceptional – I’d expect this quality from a premium brand, not a budget one. So, in the swatch above I have sectioned into trios going down the palette. From bottom to top, Supreme, Velvet, Royal, Vibrant, Electric, Shade, Moss, Evergreen and Element (watch out for this one – it’s much softer in consistency than the others).

From bottom to top: Peachy, Solar, Summer, Quartz, Heat, Penny, Pave, Candy and Danger. I can’t wait to get the last three on my lids!
I’ve not tested for longevity yet. You can find e.l.f. 18 Hit Wonders Palette HERE.
