When Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin were first reported to have gotten married at a New York City courthouse, Baldwin tweeted out a denial she’d later delete. The two themselves would not comment on their relationship status on social media, while People and even holdout TMZ ultimately got confirmation from sources that yeah, Jailey got hitched without a prenup. Then two weeks ago, something changed, and Bieber called Baldwin his wife on Instagram. People found out that something in a new report released today.

It was just a feeling!

“After being married for a few weeks, they both realized that they actually felt like husband and wife without having a religious ceremony,” a source said. “They want to openly celebrate their marriage. This is why Hailey decided to change her name. She loves being married to Justin. They are still planning a wedding and a religious ceremony.”

Baldwin did indeed change her name on Instagram the Friday before Thanksgiving week. This past weekend, she really brought out the Mrs. Bieber merch, showing off both a bedazzled “Bieber” necklace and a “Mrs. Bieber” jersey at the hockey game that she and the Biebs attended Saturday night.

TMZ reported earlier this month that Bieber and Baldwin still plan to have another wedding with family and friends in upstate New York or Canada in the “next few months.” It echoed People‘s new report that a second religious ceremony is still forthcoming.

The courthouse wedding, as People reported in October, was Baldwin’s idea. She felt that “officially becoming husband and wife sooner rather than later solidified them as a team,” a source told the outlet then. “It was ‘you and me against the world.’ Let’s show [everyone] we’re serious and it’s not just some crazy fling.”
