Pete Davidson Took Down All Ariana Grande Instagrams

Here’s some hot, fresh drama: Ariana Grande’s fiancé Pete Davidson just removed every photo from his profile, including all his PDAy shots with Grande. It’s now empty, save an Instagram story from Syracuse, where he’s working on a new film.

The move comes hours after he defended a comment he posted on Grande’s recent Instagram with her late grandfather in honor of the anniversary of his passing. Davidson posted “omg what a cutie,” referring to Grande’s grandfather, and her fans construed it as him talking about her. And they pounced, calling it inappropriate and wrong timing.

“Are you guys all insane?” he wrote to them. “I was talking about how cute her grandpa is. What’s wrong with that? You guys will really look for anything to attack people. It’s sad.”

Well, that seemed to be the final straw for Davidson, though his account remains active, so there’s hope yet for more coupley exchanges, although now they’ll just be on her account. The full Instagram takedown move, by the way, has been employed by several celebs over the last couple months: Taylor Swift, Zayn Malik, Blake Lively, and most recently Miley Cyrus. It’s typically done to build hype for upcoming projects.

But Davidson, who made a late-show appearance where he was supposed to promote Set It Up into one more focused on promoting Robert Pattinson’s film Good Time, likely isn’t trying to build anticipation for anything work-related. It’s our bet that he’s sending a message to fans that when you harass someone, you run the risk of them disconnecting from you.

Grande herself has provided no direct explanation on Twitter about what happened yet, but she did share the tweet, “the energy u put out is exactly what u get back, please create a beautiful life for yourselves.” Make what you will of her intended meaning.
