Ready for another trip to Aldovia? Netflix announced today that the follow-up to holiday cult favorites A Christmas Prince and A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding is on its way—and the American journalist–turned–queen Amber Moore (Rose McIver) and Prince Richard (Ben Lamb) are officially expecting. The teaser shows a sonogram (!!!) of the heir to the Aldovian throne wearing a photoshopped crown, along with the movie title: A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby. Did you expect anything less?
When we last saw Amber and Richard, the royal newlyweds had just tied the knot after solving an Aldovian financial crisis. And, of course, in the original film, Amber got herself into hot water by posing as the tutor to Princess Emily (Honor Kneafsey)—when she was really trying to get the royal scoop.
According to E!, the drama is far from over. Netflix’s description of the third instalment reads: “It’s Christmastime in Aldovia—and a royal baby is on the way! Amber and Richard host royals from a faraway kingdom to renew an ancient truce, but when the priceless 600-year-old-treaty disappears, peace is put in jeopardy and an ancient curse threatens their family!” So not only is there going to be a new member of the family, but world peace is at stake, you guys. How on earth will they fix it? Only one thing is for sure: They’ll figure it out in the end.
There’s no official release date for A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby just yet, but expect it to begin streaming “this holiday season.”
