Award season events continue, along with the opportunity for Lady Gaga, Best Actress Oscar-hopeful, to sartorially do the most on red carpets across the country. Last night, Gaga was in New York City, where she accepted the Best Actress award for her work in A Star Is Born at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street. Gaga wore a sleeveless crystal-embellished black tuxedo dress with a high leg slit by Ralph Lauren. Her hair, which was dyed blue to match her Golden Globes gown this weekend, was back to platinum.
But the biggest statement piece of the night, literally, was the gold and black feathered cape by the brand that Gaga carried with her everywhere. She posed with it outside the venue, as if it were a singular gigantic pom-pom:
She posed with it on the carpet, looking like an old Hollywood starlet:
And she brought it on stage, though Colbert freed her of it so she could make her speech on the podium hands free for the award:
Gaga’s appearance comes after A Star Is Born won the Best Original Song award at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles this weekend. It also comes days before the Critics’ Choice Awards Sunday, where Gaga is nominated for Best Actress for A Star Is Born. Gaga wore Ralph Lauren last night, but at the Golden Globes this weekend, the singer wore a giant blue Valentino dress that paid homage to 1954’s A Star Is Born star Judy Garland.
