Ariana Grande’s Japanese Hand Tattoo

In the most recent installment of ‘What Ariana Grande Tattooed on Her Body,’ the songstress posted a picture to her Instagram account of a new tattoo on her palm of two Japanese characters intended to spell out the title of her chart topping smash, “7 Rings.” But that’s…not quite what she got. Instead, the tattoo translated to “shichirin,” which is really a small Japanese barbecue grill.

A Twitter user was quick to explain the misspelling along with a screenshot from Instagram of Ariana’s Japanese fans confirming the she did indeed get the characters incorrect.

Ari deleted the photo from her Instagram since then, but took to Twitter to explain the reasoning behind the faux pas. She insisted that getting the extra Japanese characters that “7 Rings” required would have caused her too much pain to continue.”Indeed, I left out ‘つの指’ which should have gone in between. It hurt like fuck n still looks tight,” she clarified to a user in a now deleted tweet. “I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.”

At least she’s a fan of tiny barbecue grills.
