Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, a happily private couple, had a rare public outing in New York City today where Swift hold onto Alwyn’s arm and made eye contact with the cameras too. In the past, the two have covered their faces or avoided looking at the lens in some of the shots photographers have gotten of their dates out—perhaps because, as Alwyn has repeatedly said whenever he is asked about Swift, their private life is by definition private and not for the paps to snap. But it’s the holiday season, the day before Swift’s Netflix Reputation concert film comes out, and the two had on great outfits for lunch with Alwyn’s brothers Thomas and Patrick:
Swift wore a burnt orange Soia and Kyo coat, a brand Meghan Markle also recently wore on her visit to the Royal Variety Charity’s nursing residence. Swift’s is still available for $695. She paired the cozy coat with a red scarf, newsboy cap, purple pants, and a Yves Saint Laurent cross-body bag. Alwyn, meanwhile, was dressed in blue.
Swift and Alwyn were last shot out together in New York City when they were returning from Swift’s surprise performance at the Ally Coalition’s Talent Show. Swift also was seen at the after party for Alwyn’s film premiere, Mary, Queen of Scots, in London this month although they did not walk the red carpet together.
Their outing today comes after Us Weekly suggested that Alwyn was planning on proposing to Swift “soon”. The two have been together for over two years at this point.
“Joe is very keen on proposing soon,” the source told the outlet shortly before Swift’s 29th birthday. “But he wants to make it unforgettable and extremely special.” The source also implied Swift will say yes. “He’s her dream guy,” the source explained. “Taylor’s going to be over the moon.”
