Eagle-eyed Twitter fans spotted the moment during a scene where Grande, acting as lawyer and fashionista extraordinaire Elle Woods, reads from a law school textbook. Zoom-in on the cover and it reads, “Immigration and Refugee Law and Policy.”

Considering the current crisis at the border, Grande’s book choice is a clear show of support for immigrants and refugees. The singer has never been one to shy away from political opinions—she’s publicly opposed President Trump and participated in the Women’s March and March for Our Lives.

As she explained in her ELLE August cover story, Grande feels a responsibility to speak up. “Not everyone is going to agree with you, but that doesn’t mean I’m just going to shut up and sing my songs,” she said. “I’m also going to be a human being who cares about other human beings; to be an ally and use my privilege to help educate people.”
