6 Beauty Secrets I Learned from Jasmine Tookes

It’s no secret that Jasmine Tookes is the resident beauty junkie among the Victoria’s Secret Angels. Anytime we’ve asked other Angels for their beauty tips, her name always comes up. Romee Strijd calls Tookes an “expert” and asks her to do her makeup before events. Josephine Skriver says she learned to use baby oil after showering for soft skin from Tookes. So we were pretty excited when Tookes welcomed us over to see how she gets ready in the morning for our series “Waking Up With.” Watch it, above, and read on for more of her beauty secrets.

Describe your beauty routine.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I moisturize, drink a lot of water and use a lot of face oils.

Several angels have said you’ve taught them how to do their makeup—how did you get so good at it yourself?

My second passion besides modeling is beauty. Ever since I was little, growing up I would always do my friends’ makeup for prom, or my own makeup just for fun. I would even put makeup on my Barbies! Over the years I’ve worked with some of the best makeup artists and I really pay attention to everything they do. I love makeup and looking at all the new products.

What was your first makeup product?

A Bobbi Brown stick foundation. They had the best [shades] and back then, they were probably the only brand that did when it came to foundation.

What are some products you’re loving right now?

I love the new Victoria’s Secret All Eyes On You Eyeshadow Palette. It has really good colors; there’s colors for a natural glam and for nighttime, there’s a really cool dark color for a dark and sexy glam.

What’s your workout routine?

[Before the VS Fashion Show] I amp up my workouts a bit. Normally, I workout about three times a week and now I do about five times a week. I also boost my protein intake so my muscles are stronger and also build a little bit of shape. I also alternate between Physique 57 and Dogpound.

Any beauty services you love to do?

I usually do a laser facial about three weeks before the show. It’s really good with plumping skin, smoothing out fine lines and getting rid of sun damage. My skin had a little sun damage after summer. It also makes you really glow-y—I love that treatment.
