Oh, hello! I’m always on the side of brands who go the extra mile in presentation and this collaboration with Vanessa Traina, creative director of Assembled Brands and The Line. And no, I’ve honestly never heard of her. Or The Line. OR Assembled Brands. Apart from the fact that I feel slightly embarrassed that a huge knowledge gap has been exposed, I really don’t think it matters because anyone interested in these will be buying with their eyes first and foremost, and not with their fashion know-how. They’re so visually lovely, particularly the lipstick.

Water-colour anemones feature on three shades of lipstick and the Lip & Cheek Oil – also 3 – has a paper sticker.

I have two shades here – the lipstick, £28, is in Dianthus and the Oil, £26, is in Lilium. These are very low pigment, designed to be more about the nourishing oils and waxes than high impact colour. The Oil is more of a water-icing coverage – sheer, glossy and translucent but doesn’t really work as a cheek shade at all. The lipstick is also very light in colour but feels conditioning and compatible.

Although they’re more spring-like in appearance, if you like your make up low key, hydrating and luxurious, they’re pan-seasonal. Oh, in the swatch above I’ve just noticed the ghost of Givenchy’s Christmas lipstick swatch – my bad! But, I’ve also discovered that Vanessa is Danielle Steele’s daughter! The products are HERE.
