Khloé Kardashian Defends Staying With Tristan Thompson After He Cheated in Instagram Comments

On last night’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the immediate aftermath of Tristan Thompson’s spring cheating scandal was shown. Khloé Kardashian gave birth to their daughter True and admitted to her sister Kim Kardashian, after Kim rated Tristan out on Ellen DeGeneres’ show, that what he did, “it is f*cked up. And he’s a complete piece of sh*t.” But Khloé, per People, also told Kim that his behavior wasn’t her focus after just giving birth. “Honestly, you can feel however you want, but I’ve got other sh*t to deal with right now.”

Fast forward seven months, and Khloé and Tristan haven’t broken up and are spending Thanksgiving together. And for the first time, Khloé directly responded to fans on Instagram wondering why she stayed with him. To one who said she deserved a better man, she wrote:

I appreciate you! I appreciate your opinions. In life we all make mistakes. Some are bigger than others. His mistake was obviously humiliating and heartbreaking but I do believe that I am strong enough to endure anything. I choose to find a life lesson in every situation, even the nasty ones. Tristan has grown from this but most important he is a beautiful father to sweet baby True. Only time will tell but until then I am living in my happy place with True. She deserves only love and happiness.

To another commenter, Khloé said she wasn’t excusing Tristan’s behavior. She gets to make her own choices, “right or wrong,” about her boyfriend.

“In all honestly [sic] I completely thrive when I am alone,” she started, suggesting she doesn’t need to stay with someone she doesn’t want to. “I reflect, grow, excel… I absolutely love it! Being alone is definitely not an issue for me personally. And if he does it again, then I will deal with that but those are my choices. Right or wrong they are mine. I appreciate the support, unsolicited opinions and love I get from you all. I’m not excusing anyone’s behavior. I simply did what I felt was right for me in that moment. You also are unaware of the work we do behind the scenes to better ourselves or to hopefully better ourselves.”

She also stressed that rumors that Tristan left his ex Jordan Craig for her when Craig was pregnant with her and Tristan’s kid were untrue. “PS he never left ANYONE for me,” she wrote. “I have said this before But as I have learned the truth isn’t as exciting as a lie. So the lie is what gets traction. The truth seems to get buried and ignored. Either way, it’s all love and peace over here.”

Khloé made the same point on Twitter, telling a fan who accused her of going out with Tristan the day after his ex gave birth that they had the timeline wrong.
