Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Correct the Record on New Dog’s Name and Gender

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were reported to have adopted a black Labrador Retriever puppy together back in late August, a male one that royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith claimed to The Sun they named Oz. They did get a new puppy, the two confirmed in Sussex yesterday, but no one actually has the name or gender right. When presented a picture of Guy, the beagle Meghan brought over, Harry at first thought it was of the new dog.

“No one’s even seen our dog so that…” he started.

“And they keep getting her name wrong!” Meghan added. You can see it at the one-minute mark. The two then realize the picture is of Guy. They did not, of course, take the opportunity to reveal their new dog’s actual name. Perhaps another day.
