On the heels of J. Crew’s new relaunch, its sister brand Madewell is doing a little revamping of with an official foray into menswear. Boyfriend jeans actually for boyfriends. Genius. Madewell’s new mens collection is chock-full of versatile denim styles and wardrobe staples like hoodies, tees, and jackets.

The new collection offers up everyday classics like the Classic Jean Jacket ($128), Garment-Dyed Crewneck T-Shirt ($35) or the Pullover Hoodie ($95). There are also three pairs of sneakers, courtesy of French footwear brand Veja retailing for $145. But as with any Madewell launch, premium denim is the main focus of the 38-piece collection, 21 of which are jeans in three cuts—skinny, slim and straight—and start at $115. Rest assured Madewell took their time to perfect its new crop of denim styles—two years to be exact.
“As we expand the Madewell point of view into new categories, men’s was a logical step for the brand,” Madewell president Libby Wadle said in a statement. “After two years of incubation, we’re excited to bring our denim expertise and laid-back design sensibility to a new customer where there’s an opening and need in the market for premium quality jeans at an accessible price point.”
While the mens collection won’t available in Madewell stores, you can treat your mans to a pair of new jeans by shopping on madewell.com/mens or nordstrom.com, or even taking a trip to one of the 31 Nordstrom stores the collection will be on display in. New Yorkers can snag a few pieces during Madewell’s upcoming pop-up shop, launching on September 14 and running until September 16 at Crest Hardware in Brooklyn (55 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11211).

“Our goal was to make a wearable collection, rooted in denim,” Wadle adds. “These are classic-meets-modern pieces that fit exactly the way our Madewell guy would want them to, in washes that only get better with age.”
