As I’ve already done a thorough review of Perfect Canvas HERE, this is more a post about how brands revitalise existing products. Perfect Canvas (that goes over the top of your moisturiser to mattify before make up. It’s a probiotic formula that’s more skin care than make up prep that also carries a pore reduction claim (insert the ‘hmmm’ emoji here). Anyway, as you can see in the pictures above, you’ll get a little set of transfers designed by @topshelfieillustrated (Lauren Johnstone) for your Perfect Canvas bottle so you can get creative and make it look however you wish.
REN Perfect Canvas Birthday Edition
Here’s my minimalist effort and frankly I think all the bottles should look like that! Remember when REN put lashes on their sleep spray? People loved it. The thing to note about this special edition is that while you’re getting a little extra pzazz for no extra money, the brand is also using the transfer sheet to push home the ‘before make up’ message that doesn’t come across that well in the first place. Once a brush (or lipstick, gloss or foundation drops that the sheet also includes) has been added to the bottle, you can’t think of it as anything other than integral to make up prep. It’s a good marketing job done well on a lacklustre looking product. I think the brand can afford a few flourishes permanently on this product but in a strange twist, it’s now £40 instead of £50 … and it looks better! You can find it HERE.
