Is it just us, or has it just become autumn in the span of 24 hours? Central heating has been turned on, coats hauled out of storage, winter boots dusted off and our brains officially kicked into layering mode. There is, however, always a sense of disorientation when it comes to switching our sartorial weather vanes from one season to another in such a short space of time, so any help or inspiration that comes our way is very much appreciated. As always, Alexa Chung is on hand to guide us through our wardrobe worries, and this time it’s via the perfect autumn outfit.
Following her first London Fashion Week runway show, Chung was snapped in Chile (nope, no idea) wearing a mid-length camel coat, a pair of cropped kick-flare jeans, a striped shirt, Western boots and a Gucci bag—five pieces that will probably already exist in your wardrobe, but together feel so A/W 18. The key takeaways from this look? Camel coats never go out of style and are eternally flattering, Western boots are the shoes of the season and beige-on-beige feels so chic and expensive right now.
