We live in a world where trends come and go at the drop of a hat. Most of the time, we’re talking about shoe trends and accessories trends, but yes, lingerie items aren’t immune to the trend cycle, either. But while we’re quick to inform you on the trends to get rid of, there are others so classic that we’d never think of ditching them.
Not just for years, but for the better half of the last century (!), celebs and It girls have worn the same lingerie trend: slip dresses. From Marilyn Monroe in the ’50s to Emily Ratajkowski in 2018, the slip dress trend has proved to be virtually “immortal”. What originally served as the inner lining to a gown is now a full-blown dress category and, personally, it’s a favorite for cocktail events, nights out, or just as a layering piece.
