Serena Williams Just Won a U.S. Open Match While Wearing an Off-White Tutu

After the French Tennis Federation banned tennis GOAT Serena Williams’s blood clot-preventing, Wakanda-inspired catsuit at the French Open, spectators were curious to see what the new mom would wear at Tuesday’s U.S. Open—and duh, she didn’t disappoint.

For her U.S. Open debut—which, by the way, ended in a Serena Williams victory—the tennis champion wore an Off-White x Nike tutu designed by Louis Vuitton Menswear’s artistic director and Off-White founder Virgil Abloh.

The single-sleeved dress created a one-shoulder effect with brown paneling and featured a full tulle skirt, a look she finished with a pair of compressing fishnet tights and a blush Nike t-shirt during her warm up.

Williams told reporters during her post-match press conference that she’d been wanting to wear a tutu for some time, describing the look as “easy to play in.”

“[It’s] kind of aerodynamic with the one arm free. It feels really good,” she told reporters. “Yeah, the tutu is easy to play in because I practiced in it before. That was fun.”
