Chanel Apotheosis Le Mat de Chanel : Eyes

Chanel Apotheosis Le Mat de Chanel

I’m splitting this post into two because otherwise it’s so picture heavy and kicking off the Chanel Fall/Winter look with eyes and putting lips and nails in a second post to follow. Everything has already launched (I saw it in Selfridges yesterday looking splendid and sultry) so I’ll link at the bottom. You might as well have your credit card ready! My heart sank a little when I saw everything is matte because it’s not my favourite texture, but in fact, it’s the softness of it, the blurriness if you like, that makes this collection so absolutely desirable.

There are two quads: above is Quiet Revolution. These are the silkiest mattes you’re ever likely to come across. They’re weightless on the skin and blend seamlessly – as you might imagine, the blue shade needs a little more attention in application and skews a tiny bit petrol-y (as a lot of blues do) until you reach the right intensity. It’s a very, er, lively, pigment so expect to need your most powerful eye cleanser!

That pinky-taupe shade though! I love it. Strangely, it’s the one product that you’ll have to go in store for or the Chanel.com because there’s clearly a stock issue on it – it’s the only product that’s not yet listed across stockists. It’s £44.

In any case, it’s Clair-Obscur above that’s stolen my heart. From what I understand, the formulation is new – and that does kind of fit with the silkiness of the application and the light-feel.

I can wear these shades any day – especially with the red lip and nail colours coming up in the next post. If you can imagine yourself on an autumn day, black sweater, little bit of residual summer on your skin and softly smoky lids – finish with matte red lips and it’s a gorgeous look, it really is. You can find find this palette HERE.
