10 Things Who What Wear Editors Bought Because of Each Other

“It’s an occupational hazard.” That’s what I usually tell my best friend, my mom, and Chase when I place another online order or look at my credit card bill. And quite often, it’s an item I discovered while on the clock.

For the record, I’m not alone here. Our teammates at Byrdie have shopped from our stories before (and vice versa!), and it’s also not uncommon for a few Who What Wear editors to show up to the office in some of the same pieces we’ve recently acquired. But if this sounds like a big bunch of shopaholics, that’s not the case either. It’s simply this: Though I consider myself to be a pretty financially responsible person, when you work with a bunch of people with great taste, there’s always temptation to shop. Below is a recording of the instances when we gave in.

“I bought this after Nicole Akhtarzad bought this about a year ago. She often wears designer bags and definitely knows value, so when this cheap one passed her test, I promptly followed. I’ve only worn it once or so, but it was a fun buy and I regret nothing.” “I’m so here for the animal-print trend and had been eyeing this cute, cropped Ganni tee for a bit. But thanks to Lauren’s Fall Starter Pack feature, I was inspired to pull the trigger.” Available in sizes DK 34 to DK 42. “If I’m being entirely honest, this photo doesn’t do justice to how good (and expensive) this bag looks in person. Which I can fully attest to, seeing as Lauren also had this at her desk the other day.” “I bought this perfect white blouse from Lauren’s story on under-$100 fall pieces. I love the Victorian-inspired neckline and pretty eyelet sleeves, and I can’t wait to wear it with jeans for the office.” Available in sizes 0 to 10. “I’m so intrigued by these ‘pinch waist’ jeans Allyson Payer wrote about last week. They are on my fall shopping list for sure.” Available in sizes 24 to 32. “I’m a sucker for a good simple tank find, and thanks to Nicole A., I’m buying this $20 one in honey and black.” Available in sizes XS to XL. “Simply put, my co-worker, Allyson Payer, just gets me, so when she told me that she thought I’d be into these pants, not only was she right, but I bought them immediately.” Available in sizes 0 to 12. “When our editor in chief, Kat Collings, posted these Area shoes on her Instagram, I instantly fell in love. I can’t even handle how cool that crystal fringe is. I’m ordering the black version to pair with everything from jeans to holidays dresses (yes, already planning for a few months down the road).” “I remember freaking out over this Staud bag during fashion week last season, and thanks to Nicole, I was informed that it’s finally available. Counting down the days until it comes in the mail!” “After spotting our market editor, Nicole, in this adorable (and surprisingly affordable) bustier dress, I’m convinced that I’m in dire need of it too.” Available in sizes XS to M. Available in sizes 0 to 22. Available in sizes XS to 4X. Available in sizes XS to L. Available in sizes XS to M. Available in sizes 2 to 12.
