Charlotte Tilbury Magic Away Liquid Concealer

If this forthcoming product doesn’t become CT’s best-seller, I’ll be amazed. I went to the product launch yesterday, so applied it there and it was still in situ in the evening when I took my make up off. The big sell that the brand is pushing on this product is that it contains Persian Silk Tree Extract to give it stretch. That particular ingredient is more commonly used to treat skin glycation (excellent Elle feature HERE that explains it) and I can’t find anything that suggests it adds elasticity to products but it does have a gummy texture. If I’m making this concealer sound sticky, worry not – it’s absolutely not that!

The notable thing about Magic Away is that it immediately feels skin compatible. So, the formula is such that it’s easy to work with and blends to your skin seamlessly both in look and feel. I didn’t find any shrinkage that can exacerbate creases and it’s weighty enough in pigment to properly cover darkness. It’s rare to find concealer that works this well across all ages and all tones (there are 16 shades going from palest to deepest) and no matter what the condition of your skin, you’ll see a noticeable difference. The one thing I don’t like is that the brand uses the words Crow’s Feet (as something to be rid of) which is SUCH old fashioned thinking and unfriendly towards older women that I nearly didn’t post. If brands like Charlotte Tilbury can be so casually and easily derogatory then they need a bit of  a re-think.

I have here shades 1, 2, 6 (my shade), 15 and 16 as an example of the shade range. The sponge tip applicator is well shaped to get into eye corners or to dab on blemishes and marks you may wish to cover. Have no doubt – there will be beauty hysteria over Magic Away because it’s a fabulous product that genuinely works exceptionally well. It’s launching on 23rd August and will cost £29.

This is the thing I really fell in love with at the launch! It’s the Pillow Talk Quad launching on 6th September.

Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk

It’s such a perfect set of colours – like a pink toned sunset selection but one that veers nude rather than bright. It’s £39 and launches in September.

Above is the quad swatched, along with the highlight palette (I’ll do a separate post on it) and the Pillow Talk blush (again, will do a separate post on this). Below is a picture of a new palette coming our way for Christmas – I was in such a rush that I didn’t take notes of when it’s available but I should think October time.

This picture was taken on my iPhone so don’t take it as an exact accuracy – and I had to move it about a lot to get it into the light so it’s sitting on an air conditioning unit! I’m sorry – I know I’ve killed the glamour! The thing about *Christmas In July* events is that they do tend to be dark to create a winter feel and that means finding decent light is hard. Anyway, the big star, quite rightly, is the concealer.
