Ariana Grande Just Got a Tattoo in Tribute of Pete Davidson’s Father Who Died on 9/11

The latest development in Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson’s whirlwind romance is another tattoo update. This time, it’s Ariana who is sporting new relationship-inspired ink. Fans noticed that the singer got a subtle tattoo in tribute to Pete’s father, who died during the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York City.

Fans spotted the tattoo on Ariana’s foot in recent pictures of her and Pete out shopping in New York. The tattoo, the number 8418, seems simple, but there’s a deep meaning behind it. Pete’s dad, Scott Davidson, was a firefighter, and 8418 was his badge number, according to E! News. Pete has the number tattooed on his left arm (but that’s not a new tat—he’s had it for a long time).

In June, Pete got several tattoos in tribute to his fiancée. First, he got her Dangerous Woman bunny mask tattooed behind his ear and her initials, AG, inked on his thumb. Later, his longtime tattoo artist, Jon Mesa, reported that Pete had gotten “Reborn” inked on himself, in honor of the transformation he’s undergone since meeting Ariana.

“They are just riding that magical wave of bliss together,” Mesa said of the quickly-moving couple. “It’s obvious that Pete is super in love with Ariana.”
