You Can Literally Shop from the Magazine Pages

Ever wish you could shop by simply taking a photo of something you like when you see it?

Well, that is now a reality.

The technology built into the new Samsung S9 and S9+ camera makes it possible to shop select fashion and beauty looks featured in the pages of ELLE’s July issue straight from the camera. No web search or app download necessary.

Here’s how it works:

If you want to cop the clothes you see, all you’ve got to do is open up the camera on Samsung’s latest set of phones, press the Bixby Vision icon and select “Shopping.” Then hover over items in the issue or snap a photo and see Samsung’s AI assistant, Bixby, get to work to find these exact or like items for you to buy.

If you’re looking to try this season’s biggest beauty trends, tap the “Makeup” tab. Once you’re there, select “All” then “ELLE.” From there choose a look and augmented reality lets you see that makeup applied to your face (like a Snapchat filter). We created ten looks for you to test out, including this season’s must-have bold blue lip and a look that’s inspired by Nicki Minaj’s makeup on the cover (featured above). If you like what you see, snap a selfie and all the products that went into creating that look will populate on the screen. Should you need a second opinion, you can also share the look with your friends to get feedback before you buy.
