Having not liked any of the previous versions of La Vie est Belle, I’m so surprised to like the L’Eclat variant. The thing you should know is that if you don’t like patchouli in your fragrance, you won’t like this (or the others) because it’s still there but not nearly as hefty. The focus is on florals and fruit, so mandarin oil, sambac jasmine, orange blossom and rose in a lighter, fresher composition.
Lancome La Vie est Belle L’Eclat
In my press materials, there is a quote that really resonated with me and actually made me try the fragrance (because I wasn’t going to, having liked none of them before). “Happy people carry a (similar) spark in their soul, an unstoppable flicker of joy…” and it’s so true – they do. I think what Lancome has tried to do with this fragrance is encapsulate that kind of joyful emotion – whether they have or not is subjective but because the prospect is so appealing, La Vie est Belle L’Eclat will always make me think of joy. I know it’s only clever marketing, but the idea of capturing that impression is lovely.
Anyway, if you like a more floral than fruity, patchouli bottomed and orange blossomed fragrance, sniff this one out! It’s £54 HERE (price matched temporarily by John Lewis but otherwise £60).
