Part of the appeal of a perfume is not only what’s inside the bottle, but the bottle itself. In our Instagram-fueled world, packaging is everything and I don’t play when it comes to real estate on my vanity.

This is why I immediately fell for Versace’s latest fragrance for women, Dylan Blue. It’s a deep sapphire and gold, and it’s shaped like an elegant Greek amphora. Meanwhile, the iconic Versace Medusa emblem stamps the bottle with luxury.

As for how it smells? With a blend of granny smith apple (my favorite), blackcurrant, jasmine, white woods, musk, and patchouli, the answer to that is, well, delicious.

At first spritz, it smells sharp, sweet, and fruity. Jasmine, the foundation of all my favorite fragrances, comes through beautifully too. (“I’m obsessed,” my colleague Chloe gushed when I sprayed it in the office, a major co-working faux pas. “That smells incredible. Really, really good. Expensive,” was my boyfriend’s reaction when I spritzed it before he came home).
