Angelina Jolie was honored at the 2018 American Society of Cinematographers last night in Los Angeles. And to pick up her award, she wore the most gorgeous Elie Saab Couture gown, which looked completely regal.

The shimmering, textured gown, featured layers of tulle, and looked like it was dripping in gold feathers. And at one point, Jolie held out the skirt to show just how majestic her gown was:

Jolie was being honored with the Board of Governors Award at the event, for raising awareness of crucial social issues by making her recent movie, First They Killed My Father. The movie is based on a memoir of the same name, and Jolie co-wrote the script with its author.

Loung Ung’s book details her life under the Khmer Rouge in Cambodia, from when she was just seven years old and trained to be a child soldier. The movie was shot entirely in Cambodia and featured an all-Cambodian cast.

Jolie has a close connection to Cambodia; she fell in love with the country while filming Tomb Raider in 2000, according to People, and she subsequently returned to adopt her son Maddox in 2002.

Before the release of First They Killed My Father, Jolie revealed at a press conference (via People):

“We’ve been coming back and forth for 17 years, it feels like a second home to me. The children have close ties to the children here, many of them are their best friends. Maddox is happy to be back in his country.”
